  • Right to Know Global Harmonized System

    WHEN: Prior to your New Employee Orientation session.

    Go to http://www.usg.edu/facilities/rtk-ghs/ - follow the instructions at this link and print your certificate to bring to new employee orientation.

    (If you have received an offer of employment but not received information on new employee orientation please contact HR at hr@kennesaw.edu to arrange to attend a session.)

    • New Employee General Safety Orientation

      WHEN: Immediately upon activating your NetID, and prior to starting regular job duties at KSU. 

      All new hires including employees who have been absent from work for over one year. Go to http://tinyurl.com/kennesaw-neso and sign in with your NetID to complete the 41-minute online course.

      Upon completion of the online course, download the Orientation Checklist (Download here) and give it to your supervisor. This form should be completed by your supervisor to document completion of job-specific orientation provided by the department. The Supervisor should sign the form and forward it to EHS at ehs@kenessaw.edu

      Employees hired prior to January 1st, 2015 should complete the Employee General Safety Training: http://tinyurl.com/kennesaw-egst in lieu of the New Employee General Safety Orientation.

      • USG Required Ethics Training

        WHEN: Within 30 days of employment

        Go to http://tinyurl.com/kennesaw-ethics and sign in with your NetID to complete the 25-minute online course and policy acknowledgement. All KSU employees must complete this training as New Hires and periodically as required by the University System of Georgia (USG) as a condition of their employment.

        • Clery Act Training

          WHEN: Within 30 days of employment.

          Go to http://tinyurl.com/kennesaw-clery and sign in to OwlTrain with your NetID to complete the 20-minute online course. When the course is over complete and submit the CSA Acknowledgement form. This course should be completed by new employees of Kennesaw State University and renewed annually, in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Act and Federal Department of Education Crime Awareness and Campus Security requirements. 

        • ISO Mandatory Employee Information Security Training 2016-17

          WHEN: Within 30 days of employment

          Go to: https://ksu.skillport.com/skillportfe/main.action?path=summary/LP/spksu/lp_ISO_InfoSec_2016 and sign in with your NetID to complete the 11-minute online course. Enter your first and last name and KSU email address when prompted, and click Watch Video and Take Quiz. Answer the question at the end of the video. Note: You must answer this question to receive credit for completing the  training.

          This video aligns with USG IT Handbook Section 5.9 which requires that all employees, including student assistants, successfully complete information security training each year.

          • KSU Driver Qualification Program

            WHEN: Prior to operating any vehicle on KSU business.

            LEVEL 1 - MANDATORY ANNUAL TRAINING & MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD (MVR) CHECK
            All Employees: Faculty, Staff, Student Assistants, Volunteers, Non-Paid Affiliates and any other party acting on behalf of Kennesaw State University. Operating KSU owned motorized vehicles, Rental Vehicles, Lease Vehicles or Personal vehicles; regardless of vehicle ownership or frequency of use.

            1. Go to: https://campustraining.kennesaw.edu/ and log in with your NetID & Password.
            2. Scroll to Mandatory Vehicle Operator Training and click the link.
            3. After you have completed the course print, complete and sign the Motor Vehicle Record Form and submit them according to these instructions.

            LEVEL 2 - DEFENSIVE DRIVER TRAINING COURSE
            All employees who operate a vehicle on a monthly basis on behalf of KSU OR operate a vehicle to transport other people (Students, other employees, guests, etc.), regardless of frequency, on behalf of KSU are required to complete this course.

            1. Go to: http://www.tinyurl.com/kennesaw-driver and log on with your NetID & Password.
            2. Select a session of the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course.
            3. Attend and complete the Instructor Led Training Session for the date you selected.
            4. You will receive official Certificate of Completion from the National Safety Council which you may submit to your personal auto insurance carrier for possible premium discounts. (ex. 10% discount on State Farm)
          • Additional training is required and/or recommended depending on job duties and responsibilities.

            • Position-specific safety training
            • Records management training
