Maxayn Smothers

    Maxayn's role is to effectively communicate learning opportunities available to the KSU campus through coordinating and publishing the Center’s training schedules, certificate programs and by organizing events; she also ensures the Center has a strong online presence through social media. As the Center’s Creative Advisor, Maxayn offers one-on-one assistance with creating effective and creative communications.

    Previously, Maxayn worked in University Studies where she was instrumental in developing the following programs: First Year Program, Senior Year Experience, CLASS Learning Communities and the Service Learning division. Additionally, she raised the bar in developing Reflective and Best of Show Portfolios and was invited to contribute to The Complete Graduate: A Workbook for College Seniors.

    Maxayn was a recipient of KSU’s employee of the month award and was a nominee for employee of the year. She also received the Mary Jane McKinnon Award of Excellence for her commitment to Excellence in Higher Education.

    Maxayn earned an MS in Information Design and Communication from Southern Polytechnic State University and a BS in Organizational Communication from Kennesaw State University. She is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) and the Society for Technical Communicators (STC). In addition, she holds certificates in Graphics & Animation and Web Design.
